Register the death
We will provide you with full details of how to do this, and from then on you can rely on us to handle all the arrangements on your behalf.
Does the deceased have a pre-paid funeral plan?
If the deceased has a pre-paid funeral plan with Little’s, we will finalise arrangements with you according to their wishes.
Burial or cremation?
We will help you make the necessary arrangements, including contacting the person you wish to conduct the funeral service, to ensure that we organise a date and time which is convenient for you all.
Once the time and date of the service is known, if you wish, we will help you by placing a funeral notice in the newspaper of your choice, advising people of the service details.
We will then consult with you and if you wish, organise a catering venue following the funeral service. Details regarding numbers and catering choices must be known by the venue in advance, so it’s important that everything is organised at an early stage.
Our company florist is part of Interflora and we can organise the floral tributes on your behalf. You can make your choices from brochures available at our parlours, or through the Interflora website. You are of course free to arrange floral tributes personally.
Choosing a coffin
The final stages of the arrangements will then be made, including choosing a coffin in which your loved one will rest, from our wide choice of traditional and specialised coffins and caskets. We will also consult you on whether you want to give the opportunity for people to pay their last respects, whether at our parlour or at your home.
Little’s will provide you with a full written estimate of known costs incurred during the funeral arrangements. We will explain each charge to you and how the cost has been calculated, and all estimated costs that are directly controlled by us are guaranteed.
After the funeral
Once the funeral is over, if you wish we will assist you by placing an acknowledgement notice in the newspaper thanking your family and friends, the spokesperson who conducted the service, or perhaps the team who cared for your loved one during their illness.
