Q&A: Matthew Shaw

What do you like about working for an independent family-run funeral service?

I feel in an independent family funeral service there is more attention to detail and we can provide a much better service for the families we look after. Being a team, we need to work together and communicate as best we can.

What do you enjoy about your role?

I enjoy getting to know families, a family saying thank you and that everything about the funeral was perfect for their loved one is why we do this. As well as working with the team here at Little’s.

What is something you’re proud of?

My Daughter. She is an extremely kind and thoughtful little girl and I couldn’t be prouder of her. She’s my absolute world and favourite person.

Who do you look up to (can be work-related or just in general) and why?

My Dad was a massive influence on me and who I am as a person. I always have told myself if I am half the man and provider he is, I’ve done well.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I mostly enjoy just relaxing at home with family, enjoying attending the football at the weekends and going to the gym.
