Little’s Family Funeral Service Partner with Giffnock Soccer Centre

Little’s Family Funeral Service is proud to have a new partnership with Giffnock Soccer Centre, specifically the ‘Auld Timers’ Giffnock SC Walking Football section.

‘I’m delighted about this partnership,’ Robert Tripney, Funeral Services Manager, said, ‘both as a football fan myself, and also as manager of a business that cares about supporting the local community. The Walking Football Team is a wonderful initiative.’

Talking about the ‘Auld Timers’ section, coach Martin Jack (aka Jacky) said, ‘it’s about trying to bring together people of a certain age – 40s, 50s, 60s – and keep them healthy, keep them fit, keep them social. It’s not about being talented at football – you don’t have to have played football before in your life. It’s more about the social side, the fresh air – it’s a decent workout, and it can be competitive as well.’

Giffnock Soccer Centre has been on the go for 26 years and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger which is why they are moving from their base in Norwood to Auldhouse, just around the corner from our Muirend branch. They are the largest club of their kind in Scotland, with over 1,000 players, and 200 volunteer coaches.
