COVID19 Update 04.01.2021

Reading Time: 2 minutes

With the announcement on 4th January 2021 of a second full national lockdown in Scotland, we have updated our operations so that we can continue to provide a very personal and caring service whilst also protecting our team and all the families we look after.

Arranging a Funeral
If you need our assistance and advice in arranging a funeral, we would prefer you to contact us by telephone initially. All arrangements and paperwork can be completed by video call and email and wherever possible, we would encourage families not to visit one of our premises without prior arrangement. If you do require to visit our premises, then a face covering must be worn, hand must be sanitised on arrival and details will be collected for track & trace purposes.

Attending a Funeral
Current guidance is that up to 20 people can attend a service at crematoria across the UK. Each crematorium and burial authority have their own guidance and rules for funeral services. During arrangements we can provide you with the most up to date guidance from your preferred service location. Government advice on social distancing should be followed during funeral services. Anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend.

Many crematoria offer webcasting, so funeral services can be viewed online if you cannot attend in person. Information on this will be provided by your funeral director during arrangements.

At the moment, religious services can go ahead in places of worship with up to 20 people (including the priest/minister) with social distancing measures and guidance in place, your funeral director can provide further information on this at the time of arrangement.

Family Funeral Cars
We are still able to provide cars for families attending funerals. Up to six passengers from one household can travel in a limousine and up to three passengers from one household can travel in a saloon car. All passengers must wear a face covering whilst travelling in our family vehicles.

Funeral Catering
As of the 8th of January, no funeral catering is allowed.
